New turbo wanted

Would anyone on the forum be able to tell me where I could get a rebuilt 1.6TD - TA030 Garrett turbo # 465384-5 or the VW part # 068145703F

or alternatively I would take a 1.9 TD AAZ exhaust manifold with the attached turbo. Hopefully in excellent condition.

Thanks!
David

I truly Need a Turbo

When I bought the turbos, the first one was slow to turn using the fingers and I thought that adding some oil might loosen it up and it did to some extent. Turbo numbers are 465384-0005 or 068145703F I thought it was a common enough T3 turbo ...

1.6 TD in a Westy

In my experience the difference in performance makes it worth the effort . No more shifting with every little hill. I have kept the original tranny only because the whole system was working so well. If the transmission fails in the future I will then change over and I am always on the look out for a...

Speed versus RPM

Would anyone have accurate information on the RPM's I am running at various speeds. I just did a motor job and I don't wish to overrun the engine. I have a standard 4 sp. 091 tranny that came in the '82 diesel and the tires are the standard Michelin 195-75-14 6 ply . Thanks for the input and if you ...
