Plug attached to the back of the block?
Does anyone know why someone would connect/bolt a three prong household electrical cord to the back of the block? Is this a block heater?

Question about starter electrical.
As of right now, on the diesel, besides that power going to the solenoid and connected to the ignition, there's another similar looking wire connected to the solenoid w/ a white connector like the +12V connection, except it goes into the cab like the ignition line. Is this for glow plugs or somethin...

I think the block isn't the same, since there's no place for glow plugs on a gasser, as well as a couple other things depending on version, but according the the SAE paper on the 1.5L diesel, the conrods, bearings, crank, and pistons are the same as what's used in the 1.6l gasser. Does anyone know i...

Jeje, paint it black and we're there. No worries about visibility, just get caught in the draft of a semi and away we go. Have a little hatch to pop open and periodically check out progress. The funniest thing about the whole car is that the driver used to get plenty of heat from driving 55-65mph in...

Interesting, that kamm back may be good for a ~.35-.4 Cd compared to the supposed stock Cd of .45. I wonder if it sold well or not, considering it'd give a good few mpg highway? I was also looking into gradability, and because the Rabbit is so small, it only needs ~40w(heel)hp to climb a 10% grade a...

If you DIY, yes. Iirc, you need the a/c heater box, all the tubing, evaporator, drier, compressor, compressor/ip bracket, and probably some other stuff I'm missing. It'll take more than a few hours, and shave off a few hp, but it's doable. Having someone do it for you would probably cost an arm and ...

For rolling resistance, it's as simple as getting a better set of tires or overinflating the ones we have. r14s for example, range from .006 to .012 in Crr, so getting the proper tire, and inflating it per the manufacturer's spec, or maybe even 10-20psi more, can more than half the power needed to r...
