Rabbit fuel economy revisited.

I finally found the 1.5L SAE paper, and couldn't help plotting the power curve for the Bunny's general characteristics, as well as one for an efficient bunny. Along with a couple mileage points. Especially since my last post about vehicle efficiency crashed into mars/severely underrated rolling resi...

Iirc diesels have a hydraulic front engine mount. Diesel starters are beefy, and I have no clue about the speedo.

The motor mounts should be the same iirc. Pulling the fuel pump outa the tank may be a PITA. The fuel lines exit on the opposite side of the engine bay, so you'll need to cut and flare 'em, run tubing to the other side, or run the diesel lines. And aside from that, everything should bolt up. Instead...

Re: Old guy Old Rabbit.

Sadly, I fear that this is only an old man's dream - when pressed on this issue, you will get no straight answer. Ye of little faith, the answers are all around us imo! The difference between a diesel and a gasoline engine in terms of efficiency is pretty much pumping losses, so in order to get goo...

Alright, I did some searching, and there are some that can provide 85W, but they can't go above 400 degrees F, so they might have to go a bit far down on the exhaust. But... they're only ~$12 a piece, so 10 of 'em may be able to replace the alternator if we swap out some of the smaller lights for le...

Well, it probably depends ... The computer coolers are designed for that, and aren't good at generating electricity from what I've gathered. So... In a stock bunny, if we can get a tenth of the rated capacity (350W) in electricity, we'd need a few to power the headlights alone, not to mention all th...

You could also pull the interior/dash/maybe engine and redo everything with dynamat/b quite/etc... during a rustoration. It'll be lighter than that asphalt stuff, and probably much quieter.

Interesting info that may pertain to geling.

I was dicking around, search one of my alma matter's online databases, when I came on a little gem named Reducing the Viscosity of Crude Oil by Pulsed Electric or Magnetic Field . The paper discusses how to reduce this viscosity of paraffin based crude in areas like deep sea pipelines where heating ...

Re: the old gas to diesel question ... let's revisit this.

Search these forums or the vortex, it should yield enough to give a good idea of what to do. Buy the Bentley. Only if the gasoline car was carbed. No, just drain as much out as you can and fill it completely before starting. No, the gasoline or diesel exhausts are interchangeable at the manifold and...

It's np, I'm enjoy searching for for stuff online! :D I haven't found anything about a DC-10 and O-rings at Miami Intl, but I have found a very similar story about loaded L-1011. Apparently someone didn't put O-rings on the master chip detector assemblies and all three engines flamed out. They manag...

Hmmm... Do you have any other information about the incident? There might be on online transcript that includes the pilot's name in some private database. Probably nothing that's indexed by any major search engine, but spamming requests on flyboy forums and looking for online FAA transcripts might f...

Iirc you don't have to pay road tax on alternative fuel vehicles, like electric, propane, biodiesel, etc... Having to get a waste oil permit sounds like a PITA, have you found anything else out about it?
