Did the solid lifter gas engines use the same shims?

Good luck. I finally found some Aeroshell 100W at my local air service business, but at twelve buck (no that's not a typo) a quart, I opted for the Coastal ND 40 from AutoZone. Cost was two and a half dollars a quart. I've been using it since last winter. Are the ND 30/40/50's equivalent to 60/80/1...

One possibility: find a stock unit from a junk yard... pretty darn rare unfortunately.

I ran a tank of maybe 10-20% gasoline and my car's as rattley and leaky as ever. :D If I had something that wasn't a basket case I could give ya more info, but all I know is I didn't drain the gasoline from my donor car's tank fully and only used ~6 gallons of diesel for the first few miles. No prob...

I run 155/80R13s, since they're oh so cheap at $40/tire installed w/ a 45k mile treadwear warranty, free flat fixes, and free replacement for anything that isn't fixable. They have low Crr, and honestly, anything taller w/ my GP would just be throwing more money to make the car slower imo.

I've had a round trip tank at a RCH under 60mpg, mostly cruising at 45-55mph (50mph average speed), so I would imagine dropping down to a 30-40mph average speed could bump me up into the seventies or eighties.

That sounds like what I've experienced. It feels like I had more power up top once I turned the smoke screw down, just less torque down low, and next to no smoke. I think turbo wouldn't see this since, at least not for a while, since the more power it makes, the more air it gets, up to a point.

Running rich

After looking at the volumetric eff curve for the 1.6L NA, I can see how bumping up the fueling a bit can help out w/ low/mid rpm torque, but what does all this excess smoke do to top end power? Can too much fuel actually hurt power compared to an engine running a leaner, relatively smoke free mixtu...

and water. Plenty of water. YV says they get 330 days of sunshine per year, So far it's been about 362 by my count. All this light is freaky, and when the moons not out at night, it's pitch black... Out by 29 palms. There's a non-turbo 1.6 longblock in Flagstaff for you for $150. Supposedly...

I swear, sometimes I think I'd like someplace that's really in the middle of nowhere instead of around here. It's like dealing with all the crap from the city, not counting traffic and pollution, with none of the advantages. I swear the biggest thing in the area is the Wal-Mart in Yucca, and there's...

I've tried thesamba, CL, vwvortex, and here of course. Nothing within the past couple of weeks. Even if the block ends up trashed, would the head and IP be worth $100?
