Here's what I did wrong and what fixed my flashing oil light. Remember the LOW PRESSURE SWITCH is normally closed and the DYNAMIC OIL PRESSURE SENDER is normally open. I have a used motor sitting in basement (later project). I took the LOW PRESSURE SWITCH out of that motor, because it was easier to ...

My saga is almost over!

Will post fix later. Wise man once said, "There are no tough problems. We just miss something in the basic checks." (I said that.)

But I want to know if a Gas OPCU will work in a diesel. So today I called up my freindly local dealership. "Whats a Oil Pressure Control Unit" he said. I said just fax me the instrument cluster and I'll pick it out for ya. He sent me the following. http://www.members.aol.com/philltube/OPCU...

Ok. More info in my Saga to fix the cursed Flashing OIL PRESSURE LIGHT. I'm still wondering if part of my problem is due to having a GAS OPCU. Despite all the math in the previous post regarding RPM of Gas Vs. Diesel I'm still not sure the OPCU is wrong or right. As you may recall I tripped and step...

I watched War of the Worlds the other night and the Aliens used a Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) with the lightning to knock out everything electrical. Cars, phones, lights, TV's EVERYTHING. I got to thinking about it and I figured it would be easy to make the stop solenoid work without power and ther...

Spend 50 hours fixing oil pressure light? ---crazy ? ---you do not know CoolAirVw. I'm the one who fabricated his own exhaust. Got extimate for 150.00 but instead spent 22 hours building it myself because I found a muffler on the side of the road. I grew up a Dirt Poor Missouri HILLBILLY ---couldn't...

Could the battery be draining there? I doubt it. Proper term (at least in these parts) is "PARASITIC DRAIN" . If "something" is draining your battery it would be easily measurable with a Digital Volt Ohm Meter(DVOM). This has nothing to do with when your battery isn't capable of...

I've been noticing lots of battery failures (all cars not just VW diesels) Cheap batteries flooding the market? I bought mine and it failed 3 months later. They replaced it no charge but now its testing bad again 1.5 years later (but still starting ok). I'll probably replace it with a super high CCA...

Someone sent me a personal message regarding this post. I tried to reply and then deleted the personal post. I guess I never got the reply sent because my "sent messages" dont show that I sent it. So to whoever replied can you contact me again?

How much?

I found this bulliten on Mitchell On-Demand. It references VW’s bulletin 88-04 which supercedes 88-03 and 88-02. It mentions gas models but diagnosing tips work either way I think. It mentions bigger oil pump. I know I saw a post regarding a bigger pump on a diesel. All below is bulliten DYNAMIC O...

Co-worker had to give his 2 cents worth (how annoying). He said diodes and resisters were easy to get to on the back of the cluster so while I had it out I should do "static checksâ€

Bhtooefr--- I ran it up to 5th gear speeds without getting above 2000 rpm. Then I put it in 5th and at exactly 2100 rpm the light started flashing.
