Here's what I did wrong and what fixed my flashing oil light. Remember the LOW PRESSURE SWITCH is normally closed and the DYNAMIC OIL PRESSURE SENDER is normally open. I've been noticing lots of battery failures (all cars not just VW diesels) Cheap batteries flooding the market? I bought mine and it failed 3 months later. I found this bulliten on Mitchell On-Demand. It references VW’s bulletin 88-04 which supercedes 88-03 and 88-02. It mentions gas models but diagnosing tips work either way I think.
