Re: 2003 diesel jetta automatic transmission bad

I've converted about 12 of those to manual trans. its a very easy conversion. Look at my link below. http://kansascitytdi.com/01m-to-5-speed-conversion-800/ All the info to do this conversion is on the "kill the wabbit" thread on the tdiclub. It s huge monster thread, and you'll have to do...

Re: AAZ valve cover seal ???

Just recently worked on one. The problem with mine was there was one seal missing that on the stud under the VC. Then the 3 top rubber seals were missing, and the 3 cupped washers were missing. So to make it seal you need a good gasket along the outside, 3 rubber stud seals under the VC, 3 rubber st...

1.5L timing cover spacers

Old 79 rabbit 1.5L The timing cover has these little spacers (pic below) and two of them are missing. So if someone has some from an old 1.5 please contact me as I would love to buy them. I have a lathe and can make them but I would rather buy them as making something on a lathe gets time consuming....

Re: Pistons hit valves

it would be ok to reuse, but you'll need to measure piston protrusion to make sure the rods are not bent. Also you should pull the piston out and make sure no metal is mushroomed from the impact and going to scratch up the cylinder wall.

Re: '98 Jetta 1.9l TDI timing marks

Theres some real good info and a picture in the following link. Note that some aftermarket flywheels were produced with no mark for awhile. If thats the case you'll need to pull #1 (or 4) glow plug or injector and find TDC, then mark the flywheel.

Re: 1.6 TD vanagon

How about the cracks on the prechamber discs. Is this a big deal? Do these need to be replaced or can they be welded like the cracks between the valves? http://i886.photobucket.com/albums/ac64/coleslaw_NH/TD/GEDC0068.jpg This pic kinda looks like the pre-combustion chamber is "down" (out ...

Looks like your Precombustion chamber moved "down" some and the piston contacted it.

Special tools?

Cam seal? Crank seal? intermediat shaft seal? Some folks might say only change them if they are leaking. If your changing crank seal then you'll need a new bolt.

New belts?
