Yes 85 TD Quantums came factory with the Diesel tach. yes your oil system is working as it should but since your tach isn't then it's sounding the alarm your messed up blue foil is certainly causing your problems. your 85 QTD has VWs Dynamic Oil pressure system. and it's dependant on the tach signal...

Well, went down to the local big box and bought a longer 8mx~40mm bolt for the center hole to keep tension on the camplate. was able to turn all 3 bolts by hand thru the procedure. 2 pump housing bolts and center camplate retaining bolt. they have differing thread pitches so the ramp rate of the scr...

thats about the milage I got in my low milage QTD. it'll never get the same milage as a dasher (even from 4sdp to 5spd) as it's a good bit heavier.. but sure, spend a few bux and put 175-13 tires on it with a low rolling resistance and drive like your 85.. cause this 80yrold alreaady drove 75-80 slo...

D@MN good price for a diesel van and parts.. hate to see any go to the crusher.. as Emissions exempt chassis are getting rare.. Diesel rabbits are $$ these days too.. one thing you'll learn soon.. is that vanagons are WAY EASIER to work on and service then rabbits.. or any other car for that matter ...
