Best course of action to take IMO.

You can buy a solenoid for well under $10.

Re: Head warped .014" - bake it or mill it?

Seems to me.....stretch bolts are supposed to be installed DRY.... Not according the gasket manufacturers. They're supposed to be lubed with a thin coat of conventional oil that has had time to drain off. I use WD-40, but 10-30 or 5-30 works fine. Just lay them on a piece of newspaper and then the ...

Re: Rebuilt injector pump-interesting issue

I guess I was just throwing this out for the heck of it. The timing is advanced a bit.(marbles at start up with cold start lever out. I haven't messed with the smoke screw yet and I may just leave it alone. I'll have to see how it does towing the boat. Fuel economy seems great though I haven't crunc...

Rebuilt injector pump-interesting issue

So I ordered an injector pump for my 1.6NA from Jack a few weeks back. (I didn't really trust myself to rebuild one at this point, so I took the easy way out) My old one was leaking and was pretty sloppy as well. After driving with the new pump for a few weeks, I've noticed that it seems like there'...

also slice the rear doors just ahead of the black window post and make the cab area into an extended cab... working rear windows to boot. I was thinking the same thing. Man would it be great to have some more leg room. I wouldn't have to hear everyone who rides shotgun whine about how small it is e...

This may sound like a stupid question, but is the valve to the heater core open all the way?

Re: Diesel Rabbit "snowmobile"

I do a lot of ice fishing on Lake Winnebago in the winter. I do have great Hankook snow tires on, but when I get on the ice I throw cables over them. I have gotten stuck in my pick-up, but only due to being high strung. If I were able to lift this thing six inches, it would be unstoppable. 82vdub-Do...

It seems the Bentley's are all over the map.

Mine says 55lbs and use loctite 270 or 271.

Man, those pictures freak me out as I just got done putting mine back together.
Glad I got the 271.
