At least on my Rabbit oil pressure is sensed on the driver side of the head only. '83-'84 Rabbits have two sensors, one on the head and one on...

Do you have the high R.P.M. GC four speed transmission? I have never seen good M.P.G. from that transmission. I'm guessing that he doesn't. If his transmission is stock, I'd be willing to bet that its a 4A. I've got an '84 Rabbit and the 4A transmission. Most '84s I've seen also have this 4A tranny...

Mark, that's a little harsh. He states in the third sentence down:
