Thanks for all the replies!
I replaced the fuel supply line from the filter to the IP input and the return from the out barb to the firewall; problem solved!
Not sure what the issue was but it's not there anymore!!
Thanks!

Fuel and Starting Issues
Hello. I've noticed that it is taking quite a bit of cranking to start my car (newish remanufactured IP 30,000 miles, newer engine 70-80,000 miles) I have clear lines on the in and out barbs of the IP. When I shut the vehicle off, immediately there is a flurry of little air bubbles leaving the IP ou...

I converted my Golf to non-AC... using the 90 amp AC alternator,... and there is only one kind of alternator bracket for an A2,... AC or not. I rotated the alternator down and ground off where ever it touched: http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/8378/customnonac23hr.jpg ... so the alternator could rot...

Re: Shifter Alignment
Thanks for the replies! That's pretty awesome (and convenient) about the bearing instead of the ball! I figured out what the part is. I basically had to find it for the parts guy at the VW dealer. Pulling up the relay linkage diagram for any MK2 showed the MK1 assembly which doesn't the the retainin...

Re: Shifter Alignment
Hi everyone. I got the missinglinkz shifter replacement kit, including a new relay shaft, and am almost finished. My old relay shaft was a beast to remove. The spring clip thing at the bottom was fused to the shaft. Needless to say it was destroyed in the removal process. Does anyone know what that ...

Re: Shifter Alignment
Thanks for the replies. That is indeed the part that is broken. I had no idea that there is supposed to be a reverse lockout on this car and you're supposed to have to push the stick down to go into reverse. Hmmm. I'm pretty used to it, I'll just leave it as is I guess. As for needing it for adjustm...

Re: Shifter Alignment
Thanks for the replies! Here's what the area around the shifter looks like and the, what I assume, is the broken plastic for the alignment tool. Shifter Alignment
Hi Folks. I've been having problems shifting into 5th and now it is no longer accessible. I've read about the poor design of the trans with the oil issues etc. I'm going to adjusting the shifter and replacing bushings before anything else. I took off the gearshift boot to examine the housing area (m...

Re: Starter Bolts
Thanks for checking EcoTX. I'm not sure what bolt that is but I just verified the bolts that came out of my starter with known m10 1.5 pitch nuts/bolts and that is the pitch (not 1.25). Odd that the part would come up otherwise...

Re: Starter Bolts
Never mind... fastenal of course!
I didn't realize how long they are! New ones will be socket head cap screws (allen).
Are these the appropriate strength you think?

Re: Starter Bolts
Ok got the bolts off. I had a jack stand under the tranny but apparently not tight enought. Will have to putz around with a jack during reinstallation. The bolts are definitely triple square. doh! Now they're circles! The bolt extractor I linked to worked like a charm! (the 5/8" just barely fit...

Starter Bushing
Hi Everyone. I've read on here to remove the starter bushing, just thread in a 1/2" tap. I'll be doing that a bit later. When installing the new one I've read to grease it up (I'm assuming the starter shaft side not the engine side). I've got this grease: Coastal/Uniplex high-temp grease or thi...
