crank engine backwards till gauge stops. Then zero gauge by rotating dial face until the needle points at zero . Then turn engine clockwise to TDC. Rotate pump until gauge reads .039" and lock it in position. Everytime though I come up with .060in. instead of .035-.040in. And the pump won't tu...

This is my solution, based on the OEM TD Van brace. The OEM brace mounts near the center of the engine block and creates a less than ideal angle for controlling exhaust flex, plus there just aren't that many used pieces kicking around in the junkyards here. My support bracket bolts to the lower left...

The wording seems to apply to heavy-duty, commercial sized vehicles. Those tend to fall under different standards - I'd be willing to bet that CA won't apply this to passenger vehicles, otherwise they would have already made catalytic converters a required retrofit all the way back to the Model T er...

Careful - I chipped a pulley with a universal 2-jaw puller on the last one I did. I ended up being down for almost a month waiting for a good pulley to get here.
