"If the IP got assembled 180-out, one remedy could be to flip the cam 180-out. An unfamiliar "mechanic" might go that way." certainly a possibility more details ,,, I sent a pump out for a rebuild,,, assembled everything right on,,, got engine to run,, but it didn't run real good...

first time R+R timing belt today and I discovered that the engine was 180 out. (Cam was 180 to the crankshaft TDC mark) (Didn't know it would run like that) So before I go further: Any reassurance that if I turn the Cam / Crank to match at TDC will this thing ever start again? OK... let's ask some q...

I have found that most of the diaphragms are made of low quality (that would be Crappy) material... The auto parts stores, the on-line parts places, they all lack quality control... sometimes you get lucky and they get a batch of good material This is likewise true of CV boots,,, I've replaced many...

Hi Guys.. havn't been on the forum in a year maybe... The Blond is still LQQkin good,,, I have had numerous and ongoing diaphragm failures which I now attribute to crappy repair parts,,, Yes sadly from both Jacks... About 6 months ago I ended up with an VW original diaphragm that was probably 5 yrs ...

JRM,,, don't think i can help on this one... Its a 3208 NA driving a 5 spd w/2spd single axle.... geared to run 3000 at 55mph or so,, at least that's my memory.. truck was originally used to pull beer wagons by local distributor,,, we put a 10' dump body on it and pull a 12 tom trailer with case 580...

Shifter problems are typically caused by worn bushings...or worn and totally gone bushings ;-)....also there is a gadget called shift lever..its not in the car, its underneath and operates relay shaft,,, anyway it has a plastic end that wears... a$15 or so these parts are inexpensive...can be as lit...

82 Bunny with Diaphragm type vacumn pump.... diaphragm failed (tear) about 6 months ago, failed again this week... ordered a new one from Jack (site owner), previous one was also from Jack... Questiioned him as to whether failure is due to quality of material. He said unlikely and suggested that oil...

Not only can intermediate shaft seal leak, the carrier for it has an O-ring seal on the back that is a guarnteed leaker if it is old... Other leak location due to old O-ring is where vacumn pump makes up to block, have to remove to replace... And you can get a One piece vlv cover gasket instead of 3...

Impact wrench will take the strut nut off quick and easy...Don't need anything special,,,, don't need to hold the strut shaft... Impact hits so fast, so hard and so quick it will zip that nut right off.... You want to remove the front strut assembly to rebuild.. you won't have any luck rebuilding in...
