Old IP's usually have low internal pressure, which limits timing advance, causing poor performance. It's a simple external check/adjustment thats covered in several threads, Hagars epistle provides lots of info on the subject. Regards

Sure you didn't put vane pump in backwards? It flips over for CW or CCW pump rotation. Regards

A DIY, and inexpensive way is to use "Shim in a can" (see URL of online supplier below), a roll of steel shim stock available in various thicknesses (+.002" is approximately +5 bar). Punch or cut out shims of proper dimension, stack (wouldn't go to crazy with stacking i.e. std. to Tur...

Looked up in ETKA, and it show as assembly, vacumn pipe W/ check valve Pn 191611931L. no individual pn for T alone. Dealer will want mucho dinero i bet. I would head to junk yard or fix/make the part. Some pipe reducer fittings, and some pieces of hose and you can probably fabricate a serviceable re...

All you mention sounds like bad alt. And or including the built brush holder/regulator (2 screws and this pops out for inspection). Check for bad solder joints on regulator also if you remove. But you say same problem with 2 alternators, which points to other circuit areas, most of which you mention...

I have done this on one of my 81 caddy's, my memory is that it is a basic R&R, mounts should bolt to new tranny(check bolt patterns). Selector lever, rear selector rod, front selector rod needed from donor 5-spd car. That said if you have a good 5-spd available, and truck is apart, it is a nice th...

Windshield seal is the most common source for leaks. Also, under hood, in back of firewall, in rain tray is a plastic air intake & blower box. Many leaks come from this area. The gasket between the plastic box and the chassis metal rots out in its old age. Regards

Torque to yield (TTY) is the term and it does refer to factory stretch bolts. Raceware makes studs for 12mm head bolt replacement and also for the older 11mm bolts, but they’re pretty expensive. ARP studs through Summit racing are a lot cheaper. See the URL below for a lot of info on this subject....
