Andrew, what if I mail the injectors to you????(we don't have any kind of diesel shops here in Nogales(Rio Rico) :idea: I was reading Vincent Waldon's write up on changing the nozzels and I love to get some nozzels from a Mercedes TD (I guess they fit the TD VW's)... but for now I can settle for mak...

Torque....

GOT my block back from the M-shop, installed the oil squirters, I'm at the stage where I'm installing my crankshaft, the torque of the main bearing caps is 48 ft/lb IAW Bentley, but it seems kind of low what have you guys torque them to???

have any body tried to shortening the spring that keeps the rubber part of the seal tight in to the sealing surface??? we used to do that in the Army when no CV joint were available on the CV joints on the Hummers(where the CV joint goes in to the Hub)

Beautiful pictures..I will go to my local parts store and talk to them and see if they have any sleeves, so you did not resurfaced the crank???? just hand polished it???

I called Jack today and asked him about the "grove" on the Crankshaft, he said that he has seen many many of them and that there is nothing that I should worry about.....

as soon as I saw your head, it looked the same as mine did when the pre chamber fell, removing the prechamber before resurfacing the seems reasonable, as it was said before resurface is still up to the engine rebuilder, since the Bentley says not to resurface. I don’t think I would do it again, ha...

I suspect that my front main is going to leak due to a groved crank...

I have heard of people changing the position of the seal to avoid a oil leak how is that done?

no I have not work on the W/pump my block is in the machineshop as we speak, but got couple of pics to share... of my crank where the front seal seats. I have heard people move the position of the seal to avoid a iol leak due to groved cranks any body knows how this is achieved? http://i213.photobuc...
