vw pickup 1.6 Banjo bolt+barb
Hello, was wondering if anyone had an extra banjo bolt with the two barb fittings? The little barb came off the banjo bold that is the return line to the tank, I cannot seem to get this barb to fit back in the banjo bold, seems to have a little copper washer on it.
Any ideas?

Engine Rebuild/Intial Startup
I hear that running non-detergent oil (which is easy to find) for the first 3k miles is a good idea. Also allows the (chromoly) rings to seat. Should I just fill up my oil filter w/oil before intial startup? Warm to temp. then get it out on the road for short burst? This sound like the proper method...

Thread Lock for pulleys
Hello there, I have a vw 1.6na diesel motor, I am putting the pulleys back on after my rebuild, would anyone recommend using medium strength thread lock on all my pulleys before I put them on? I was going to just torque them to spec.(33ft.lbs.) and put them on. Any suggestions? E

Complete Rebuild/non-detergent Oil?
I have a complete rebuilt motor, except for my IP. Was wondering if at intial startup, how long should I run the motor before my first oil change? I heard that with a new motor (chromoly rings) its a good idea to use non-detergent motor oil for the first 1000 to 3000 miles? If so what weight non-det...

IP Mounting bolts/pump bracket?
I need to know what kind of bolts to use to mount my IP bracket, and the IP to the bracket? I have 6 allen bolts, and not sure where they go? The IP bracket seems to be the logical solution, but when I put the allen bolts in they stick out reall far and will seem to get in the way of the timing belt...

81' vw caddy exhaust clips?
Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows of another way of removing those two clips that are attached to the header pipe. I am in the process of removing the motor and cannot get those to metal clips off and I do not have that special tool the book says is needed, any advice would be great. Thanks. p....

Cam locking tool+ timing belt removal
Does anyone have a cam locking tool and IP locking tool for sale or for rent by chance? If not I think I will have to pay top dollar for these tools, right? Can you get away installing the timing belt without these tools? Thanks, E

diesel engine removal+mark timing
Hello all, I own a 81' vw caddy 1.6 diesel. I am going to be rebuilding the engine and would like to know how to mark the timing for the injection pump, before I remove any pulleys or the pump itself. Also would like to know if I should mark the crank pulley before removal. Thanks, E
