Re: Speedometer / Odometer Discrepancy

Second -- I always drove with the speedometer registering between 65 and 70. After having a coworker tell me that he could never catch up to me on the interstate, I had the same coworker pace beside me on I-85 and was astonished to find out that if my pickup said 70mph, his corolla said 80mph. Re: Alternator belt

Re: Oil change interval

I hope you guys who are going long intervals are doing an oil analysis. This is the only way to know how long you can go between changes. There is no depute on this, this is no opinion, and no guessing. If you care about your diesel, your sending off a sample.

Re: Thermostat

Do gas engine's have any value?

I'm looking at an old rabbit parts car. It's got a gas engine. I couldn't care less about a gasser engines. Is there resell demand for the gas engines, or are they just scrap?

Re: 3.5yr rebuild project done, but gutless... help?

You have the glow plug relay controlling the fuel pump? So, it's not pumping otherwise when the engine is running? Sounds like you could have a fuel restriction by the injection pump trying to suck through a tank pump that's not running.

I used some locktite brand clear adhesive/sealant just like you did. It stopped the leak from the front. I need to do the same in the back glass.

As for the tank: Hmm. That's strange. I've never seen/heard about that before. It happened on mine. I had to pull the tank and "re-inflate" it. When crushed in, it removed about 5 gals of volume. I ended up bypassing the valve...(I don't plan on flipping the car over). Make sure the vent ...

Why? Take it back.

You bought them from NAPA...Which means you paid a whole lot for run of the mill parts. At least give them the opportunity to sell you the correct part.
