Given that China has surpassed the US as the largest consumer of oil (and coal). Given that China's rate of increase of...

The Hatz 1B30, when it was new, could be rope started @ -10F (did it once, have used the electric starter since). Per the manual you pull the rope through one complete rotation to set the compression release. Then bring it up to compression and pull like heck. It's a Direct Injection Diesel with no ...

Camshaft Pulley Removal
Having a B*&^% of a time getting the camshaft pulley off. The bolt came out easy. Tried several different pullers to no avail. I'm at the point of applying heat to the pulley.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks.

One of my personal pricing rules about fuel. It takes approx. 90 days for an increase in cude to be seen at my local gas station. We hit the magic $100 a barrel in Dec/Jan. Now it's March and I'm seeing a price spike. Sustained????? It is important to note that diesel is a distillate and gas is not ...

An account rep will walk you through the steps. They will even truck it to you. Never done that so the parameters of how that ...

Checked the glow plugs, replacing all four. Rigged up a hose to the oil inlet on the turbo. Squirted PB Blaster in, let it sit a day, then gently spun the turbo shaft with a deep well socket. Free'd right up. Re attached oil feed pipe and left the fitting loose. Cranked motor with key off till I got...

Federal excise tax on gas is $.414 per gallon (last I checked). Yes european companies do tax fuel at a higher rate. Yes Germany has a VAT on fuel (and a million other things). Yes Erupean countries use a difference taxation philosophy. Yes the local fuel retailor typically uses fuel sales to genera...

Regarding American oil production. prior to Katrina, American refineries were at 95%-96% capacity. Katrina knocked out 12, 9 were repaired and brought back online. Don't have precise numbers, but I'm guessing refinery capacity is at or very near 100%. In America we have an abundance of capped oil fi...
