Re: The Plastic Bottle Hone, 4 years on...
I could see doing this in a post apocalyptic world, but from what I just read you re ringed a block that was warn out when parts were available to bring it back to spec? Then 4 years and 40,000miles later it is still whipped upon and you do it again to get your compression up to 230, that is close t...

Re: VERY Rough Running
yeah, wow.
Spend the money once and you won't have to do it again prematurely. Everything is probably F'ed down there. Crank, #3 rod out of round, rod bolts...I would not reuse much of anything.

Re: How long does your GP relay post-glow or after-glow?
From what I have read the long style GP had little to no after glow with that relay. The fast glow ones had a short time of afterglow from what I have read. The later ones stayed on up to 2 minutes. I don't have any info to link but I remember many discussions about this and I think this was the end...

Re: rolling coal in netural
If you didn't loosen the cam and properly tension the belt, there is the problem. The mark and pray method usually doesn't work as there is no good way to tension the belt without something moving. Make sure to always rotate the engine with a 19mm socket 2 revolutions before touching the starter. If...

Re: have mercy, I added way too much oil and maybe broke it.
Yes the sensors are cheap, but so is an oil filter. If you are running a fram did you spin a new quality filter on? That would be first. Then the sensor out of the appropriate car would be best. Then report findings. 30 psi is way more than the 18 at 2,000 required.

I would replace the fuse. Even if it looks good it sounds like it is stopping there.

Re: have mercy, I added way too much oil and maybe broke it.
Well 82, you said you are no expert/mechanic and want proof why it is. I told you, the bypass isn't even set up to run at the same pressure as a Mann or Bosch. Sometimes the cardboard will separate and let most of the oil go unfiltered and not even engage the bypass on them. Frams spring is not a st...

Re: have mercy, I added way too much oil and maybe broke it.
Because it happens with Fram all the time. You have been fortunate. I had the exact same problems once, then I changed the oil and it went away. I thought older oil/viscosity, but I changed it again miles later and it came back. On the other forum, many have had this issue and it was the Fram. It ha...

Put a Mann filter on. If you have a Fram that is common for the oil light to do that.

Re: Rusted battery bracket/bolt - any tips?
They use it all here. The CaCl I don't think is any worse. I think the newer trucks are to blame. In the big money crunch I saw cars on the lots with rusty bumpers. Brake lines on new vehicles are not even made out of stuff that could be classified as steel anymore. Replace your brake lines with the...

Re: cooling system troubleshooting
does it detect diesel? I have only seen those for gas engines.
If you have no obstruction, I would shut down the WVO system just to trouble shoot. If that doesn't do it I suspect the water pump. If you didn't change it, it is probably bad.

Re: CV axle fail? torn boots, slight clicking
It is the new rubber. The boots, especially the cheap ones we can get online and the chain parts stores aren't any good. I put a set of a1 cardone on and 4 months later when I had to mess with the clutch and take them off they were cracked and almost letting grease out. The only good is the cardone ...

Re: Setting a Bosch idle
If that is yours I would assume that the OD of the washer is too big and rubbing the cage. You did shim the correct spring. See if you could find a smaller OD washer or replace that washer with another nut. The way that cage around the springs are it is a touchy area.
