Re: Bizarre Vacuum Pump Damage - seizing I-shaft
This is just me thinking out loud... The IM shaft turning the Vacuum pump will naturally force the pump up into the cover? Without a good seal at the oil pump shaft the oil will not pressurize at the top of the vacuum pump pushing it away from the lid and lubricating the vaines and shaft top? The ot...

Re: Bizarre Vacuum Pump Damage - seizing I-shaft
At the bottom of the Vacuum pump where the shaft for the oil pump goes in there is a seal.
the seal is missing from this pump check the new ones that you get.
I got a new seal it is green the old one was black.

Re: How do you adjust the fuel pump pressure?
The pump pressure is critical to performance and mpg because of it affect on dynamic timing, I have read through the Internal pump pressure post many times in my efforts to adjust my jetta for best mpg. If I try to bring my pressure up to 3bar at Idle I get major marbles mid range rpm. I can only th...

Re: rapidly accumulating fuel in oil
I would think that if your return line is pinched enough to raise the internal pressure and cause an excess amount of fuel so that large amounts end up in the crank case, You would also have other symptoms like bad marbles or lots of white smoke at Idle or under load, You could try getting rid of th...

Re: rapidly accumulating fuel in oil
"The return line is pinched between the rigid fuel supply lines.." Please expalin further, do you mean that the little rubber return line from the injectors to the out bolt on the pump is pinched by the rigid metal injector lines, or the small rubber line from the out bolt on the pump to t...

Re: rapidly accumulating fuel in oil
So you are getting extra oil / Fluid in your crank case? smells like diesel?
The little return lines from the injectors or the little line from the out bolt on the injection
pump isn't going to the vacuum pump is it?

Re: Front Crank Seal Replacement
Is one O ring for the IM shaft cover to the block and the other for the vacuum pump to the block?
IIRC the Felpro box that mine came in said the same thing about cam seal but it also listed it was for the 2.2 and 2.5 Mopars.
But its been a while
Pete

Re: AAZ Engine Sputter
I was going to suggest that you check your glow plugs until you said that the sputtering would go away if you dumped the clutch, and now it doesnt go away at all. I have no experience with the AAZ is that a 1.9? or 1.6 either way you may want to check the crank sproket and see if it is loose and or ...
