I think I may have found out why the lines have been breaking. Reached down to check how tight the bolts were that bolt the bracket to the engine block. I was able to loosen the bolts with my fingers! I re-tightened them but I'll have to keep an eye on them for sure!

High pressure fuel line help

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do with metal fuel lines that keep breaking? This is so frustrating! I have a 1.9 Turbo diesel in my Vanagon with an injector pump from Performance Diesel in Ontario. The pump has the fuel enrichment diaphragm too. Basically what keeps happening is that my...

Flippin' Fuel Injector pump incompatibility

Hey there V-Dub Diesel community, So I'm in the process of swapping out my old 1.6 injector pump for a beautiful 1.9 turbo pump but the pulleys are not lined up! The pump should be correct as it is for a 1.9 turbo. Do I need to find an offset pulley that would line everything up? Any suggestions? Se...

Thanks for the advice Andrew. I do not have an oil pressure gauge. I plan on getting an oil pressure gauge and tach in the near future but for now I'm relegated to the unknown. I'll change the oil and see what happens. Thanks!

Black Smoke!

Well after my major coolant system overhaul, I drove up and over the Rockies, and noticed black smoke billowing out my tail pipe. I immediately called the guys (Wolfsberg Auto) that did my coolant work to ask them for advice. They said that was a pretty normal thing for vehicles operating at higher ...
