It's been BUSY for me lately, I'll get some updated pics on my website @ http://www.ihavecrabs.com . I acquired a one-owner as-new Syncro wagon! It is my new trailer puller and it does fantastic. The TD has been relegated to commuting duties and she's about to roll over to 333,000 miles! I may be se...

I dig that. For me, turning the screw out decreases the sensitivity of the accelerator pedal. It's almost like my TIG welder pedal. I can set it to max out at 75amps and give me a very precise feel for welding amperage, or I can set it to 200 and *very easily* burn through. Options are cool but I'm ...

I just got a boost pressure gauge hooked up and boost looks great whilst driving. I went ahead and did the o-ring fix without instructions and everything is golden. The return springs were actually pretty easy for me. I used a needle nose plier for the bottom spring and vise grips for the top. Since...

Well, although it seems that there's more power, the towing thing isn't too great. I'm getting an S10 to pull the trailer but it was a worthy effort on the VW's part. After all the jacking with the fuel screw it is now PROFUSELY leaking. It appears to be leaking out of the threads past the lock nut....

Your mileage numbers are extremely low for a quantum td wagon in my experience. If you haven't got lots of black smoke billowing out (over-fueling), I'd say you should check out compression/leakdown. That is, when not towing. My wagon always gets over 45 mpg, even when driving like a madman. How he...

I did not check out the front but I wouldn't be surprised if they did fit. If you have a u-pull-it yard handy I recommend taking yours and shopping around. It's very cathartic to see all the dead cars and get to break whatever you want! Good luck finding a Q in your local yard. Foxes are more common...

BMW Springs in Rear of Quantum/Fox
Due to my need for more tongue weight capacity, I decided to put bigger springs in the rear of the ol' Quantum (wagon). After a few hours at the u-pull-it I found that rear springs from a BMW 735 will fit exactly into the strut, no modifications needed at all. The springs are identical height but th...

More pictures. This is the interior of the spaceship. What's the difference between the LDA/ADA? I did a search but didn't find any good pictures on the forums with a comparison. Someone send me a picture of an ADA and I'll do a nice side-by-side. This device of mine definitely adds fuel as boost in...

Without the atmospheric bleed, your boost enrichment will not work. Definitely lack some umph without it, especially if it's filled with fluid or even pressurized by pump internal pressure if the leak is bad enough. You will need the appropriately sized diesel rated o-ring. I know it is par...

Yeah I changed the pic so you could see it better. So if the seal went bad a good mechanic simply sticks a nail in ther leaky vent hose, I see... looks like I get to take the pump apart today. Thank you Andrew for the breakdown. This might also explain the gratuitous lack of power I have been experi...

Nope! The connection to the manifold is actually a small barb fitting/banjo on the top cover, this banjo fitting is on the spaceship body directly above fuel return line. The banjo comes from the bottom side of diaphragm and appears to be a drain for the fuel that has accumulated in the spaceship. T...
