Stick with the drums. I put quite a lot of research into discs but came to the same conclusion...not worth the hassle. The rear drums are upgrade-able though. If memory serves, the Sciroccos had larger drums, did they not? The number 10.1 comes to mind...can't remember if that was for front rotors o...

1. If you just want to re-seal the pump, it's pretty easy. Rebuilding it is a bit harder (I've done both) I can't say I'd recommend trying to rebuild one unless you have a spare (just in case). Either way, make darn sure you match-mark absolutely EVERYTHING when you tear down a pump. EVERYTHING!!! S...

I know this is mainly an a2 thread, but I thought I'd throw my somewhat temporary Mk1 solution in.
I used a 90 amp alternator from an 86 Golf. It WILL fit, but you have to remove the condenser and it's tight.
