I spent a year and endless hhours on the phone with three adhesive manufacturers trying to find/ locate a glue to reattach the hinges and came up with the best one only holding for a m...

why worthy
Why do you say a worthy project? I have not lookind into this very deeply yet so is there somthing major i am missing? I do not want to turbo this engine as there are no piston cooling jets. As a diesel mechanic I now how much any increase of inlet pressure (boost) will raise cumbution temperatures....

Just looking for some ideas for the caddy. I would like to be able to drive down the interstate with a/c and not block traffic. I would like to use the 020 tranny (mine or another) and an on the fence about going to a MTDI or electric. I am leaning toward MTDI as wel have no emissions here in FL and...

problems
I read on the other site about what cdk said. uploading pictures of your small cooling circuit would be very helpfull to verify correct routing. I am sure there is a place in rio to get the heat shields for the injectors but the host of this forum sells these vw parts if you contact him @ jack@vwdie...

tdi parts
I am considering swapping my 1.6L IDI out of the caddy for a MTDI engine so i will not have to go thru the whole broaching process anyway.
If you know where i can get an engine cheap it would be helpful.

breaks loose
it seems to be diffrent every time with every adhesive. with the last stuff i used the glue itself sheared. there was glue on the pivot and the glass. I used less than 1cc of glue so i know it was not an overglue issue. I also put a piece of snad paper on the glass grit side up to match sand the bot...

tuning
Are you capable of tuning the pump when you install it? To do a complete reseal you have to re calibrate the max fuel settings and it can be close but not right on without the car to dial it in. the only other issue is the main shaft bushings. if they are wore the new ones are installed then reamed ...

I am missing the the locking tabs for mine so i had some universal vent window locks to hold them in, good thing too cause it would have hit the highway last time when the adhesive went out. Knowing the germans the stuff they used to hold the vent windows in was was probabaly some sh...

I swapped to fixed windows from a junk yard donor car for $10 out the gate both windows and seals. If the chemist come...
