The test is done without load. I really do not think is very scientific, considering that the parameters such as rate of application of the throttle, length of time at full throttle etc are not controlled. In either case, the car has to pass.

Opacity emission tests and pump tuning
Have to pass a yearly emission test. It is done by 5 quick full throttle applications, about 30 seconds apart. The opacity during the 5 "runs" is averaged and should be below 40%. I have some questions regarding pump "tuning" to pass. Does timing advance help (lower the opacity p...
