Fuel line size

What size fuel line ( viton ) should I use from the tank to the pump? 3.5mm ID ?

I just traded in an 04 automatic golf tdi with 160k on it.
I can say it was the most reliable vehicle I have owned. Besides maintenance, I never did a
thing to it.
I drive 1000-1200 miles a week and run 70-80 when I can, so it was not babied.
