officially have 14000 on the rebuild with no major issues as of today

Well I have 3000 miles on the rebuild and short of a couple very minor issues it is running fine. I took it to the north side of Chicago last week about 390 miles round trip. Ran 47 mpg on the NA 1.5, burned less than .25 qt of oil and actually did pretty well keeping up with traffic

It was (it appears) the GP relay. after inspecting, the entire internals had melted so there is the short. removed relay and BAM no short so another relay is coming. hopefully this gremlin doesnt resurface

I still am worried about the shut off issue because it refuses when warm to shut off.

New problem..... the pump refuses to shut off when warm and the key is off (replaced the switch) Re-builder thinks an injector is hanging up I think the shut off is bad. New pump on purchased from here timed the way Jack said and it runs great but no power at all. It is a 1.5 with an FN transmission 5 spd. it is timed at 1.01 per instructions. I know this car can do a little more

Hopefully I can do the headliner and pillars this weekend. I would also like to put the dash back in. I re-dyed it and I think it turned out great. If it gets some work this weekend I will post interior work shots

I've heard there is a tool that screws into the timing hole and a bolt in the center tightens down on the flywheel. I have heard about this tool I am very interested in locating/ fabbing one up. Does anybody out there have a supplier they use to dye vinyl? The interior pieces of my 81 4dr cleaned up very nicely. However some pretty extreme fading on the dash and door trim. The color is red/maroon. Like I said they are in great condition other than color. I could use some help on this one. ...
