Re: No fuel to injectors - help
I purge pretty well with diesel every time, sometimes rush the switch back to veggie, but it was decently hot when I switched this time (110-120F). I have a heated tank, hose in hose, and an electric heater right before injection. I have two old pumps in the garage. I took one apart and felt the cha...

Re: No fuel to injectors - help
Seems like you nailed it. No movement whatsoever. That being said, I'm assuming it's the smaller distribution shaft. No way to shear the main shaft and still pump fuel, correct? And shearing the main shaft would be impressive, and I would think I would have heard/felt something. What could the culpr...

Re: No fuel to injectors - help
Will check shortly.
Would it still be able to move diesel if this were the case? Or is it possible the shaft could break in a location to move the fuel, but not distribute to the injectors?

No fuel to injectors - help
'82 diesel Caddy, running on veg. Truck has been running flawlessly, just replaced veggie filter. Driving home, going downhill under probably 75% throttle, all of a sudden zero power or fuel, car shuts down. After a tow home, I try starting and crack an injector line, no fuel. I swap out the fuel cu...

Glow plug relay clicking noise radmonly while driving
My glow plug relay seems to inadvertently click away while driving. Can't seem to trace it to a cold/hot engine, low/high rpms, etc. It will click off and on at a very high frequency for a minute or two, then stop. If I pull the relay, all is fine. Sometimes it seems that revving the engine will sto...

'82 Rabbit - parting out entire car, snapped cam shaft
Everything else is fair game. There is a new passenger side axle sitting in the hatch along with an extra injector pump. Both injector pumps are 107 AG. E-mail me if interested in anything at jwa1234@gmail.com, as I don't come on the site too often. Will pull anything you need if you're willing to p...

Perfect, thanks once again. That thread will help me out later on down the road too, what a wealth of information here for someone such as myself!

Re: 82 rabbit to pickup engine swap, few questions
A few final questions, almost there for engine pull one! Do I need the special tool for the spring clips on the exhaust manifold connection? Do I have to loosen the axel lug and ball joint like the bentley manual says prior to removal? What size star bit are the drive shaft bolts? Thanks again for a...

Re: 82 rabbit to pickup engine swap, few questions
Great, thanks for the info everyone!! hopefully this goes better than my injector pump rebuild/replacement that led to a slipped timing belt and snapped cam shaft...hence the engine replacement and mediocre mechanic comment...

Re: 82 rabbit to pickup engine swap, few questions
So it's not possible to pull the entire assembly out the top?

Re: 82 rabbit to pickup engine swap, few questions
Do you pull the transaxle and engine as one? Or separately? Seems it needs to be pulled as one the more I look at it.
Thanks for the info.

82 rabbit to pickup engine swap, few questions
Been doing some research (still not enough) but have some initial questions. Are these engines and transaxles interchangeable, or do I need to research part numbers and such? Everything looks identical from the outside. The bently manual says the engine needs to be dropped out of the bottom of the c...

Re: Bosch Injector pump reseal, cold start level position?
The no pressure is when the pump is in normal position? and then when you move the lever and press that mechanism into the pump, that is advanced timing?

Bosch Injector pump reseal, cold start level position?
Was very careful to mark everything as I took the pump apart, but forgot one thing....the cold advance lever, not sure where it was when I took it off the shaft. Here is the photo. Is this at normal timing, or 5 degrees advanced for cold starting? https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/_a4ATxwQoSRo/TbR_t...

Re: Engine Temp Sensor/Glow Plug Timing - '82 Rabbit Pickup
Glow plugs are only staying on for a few seconds also, not just the light. When disconnecting the wire to the back sensor on the heater hose connection, the problem goes away. I have a new sensor, will install shortly, but bigger problems now which probably require another post, but need to do some ...
