thanks a lot for you all for your help... got the valve shims into place and the caps are bigger than normal, but the engine works and its nice to hear my turbo whistling at idle ...

Checked the shim clearance and only one valve was acceptable, others where really off. What kind of valve shims to install to those valves whit no clearance? I think that 3,0. if thats too big then i lose a little bit of valve lift, but not compression? ________Shim cap___Shim___New shim Valve 1----...

will have to get a bentley manual and see what they say about valve clearance . when disassembling the head i numbered all the parts so not to mix them up.

its a mechanical head.Before the "rebuild" the head worked and the parts where returned where they where taken from, so the valve adjustment should be correct.... how can i check if the valves are staying open?

the injection pump mark seems to be in place. also tried to change the injection pump angle, but it didnt seem to make much of a difrence. ill try to upload a video soon...

Changed the IP and the car started. smokes a lot, and the smoke is blue. One of the reason why it didnt start was that the timing belt pulley on the crankshaft end was broken and it could move, altering the timing. So eventually the valves and pistons had a meeting where they decided to get bent.......

hey again


Today managed to sort the vane pump problem and got car started... it bearly runs and sounds like 1 or 2 cylinders are missing. Can this be because i started the car whitout the injector overflow tubes and air got into the injectors?

little update. got one of the pumps too spray fuel from dv-s but it isnt sucking any fuel from the tank ... checke the vane pump and it seemed fine...

Yeah i usually use homebrew biodiesel but since i have changed the head i have used ordinary diesel from gas station. <So the pump is filled with good quality diesel.

hey there managed to work with the pump a little. switched the working and not working DV-s and the result was that none of the valves worked... tried to switch back, but still no improvement... so now the pump is not spraying any fuel out of the DV-s. the dv-s are correctly put together... are ther...

ill try tomorrow to switch DV-s tomorrorow... if that doesnt help then take it apart and change the plate with the lobes? :)

the pump top was not taken off. the history of the head/plunger is that they came from a non turbo working pump.

yes, i have the throttle and clutch pedals both slammed when cranking, the pump sucks fuel, and the max screw is turned as much in as it can be without removing the collar
