The upper metal one? I have one. I can get a shipped price and a pic if interested.

Re: Engine Temp Needle Position Should Be Where...

I wasn`t sure about this for a long time either, my fan kicks on at nearly 3/4 on both cars, but when coasting down a long grade at speed limit it can drop all the way down to the warm-up-bar. I don`t worry about it at all now because even in high temps the fan quickly cools and turns off even at id...

Re: Subaru Legacy roof rack on a Rabbit

I like it, looks like it would spread the weight pretty well. I always run around with my rain-gutter rack as if i`m going to buy some lumber or something and never do.

Re: Cooling A 1.6

The thermostat itself is in the water pump housing. I can`t really help with the rest - a jet boat I had once had the water go around the headers to warm it up before going into the engine, else the water would always be too cold.

Yeah not even near as fine of mesh. And the one I removed was double layered so had all the algae trapped between layers.

Re: Rabbit Stalled a few times - now won't start

I got a bunch of clear/greenish colored "Tygon" hose from napa in both 1/8" and 1/4" - works perfectly. http://onespeedfast.com/rabbit-forums/new-pickup.jpg Just stopped by my local import auto parts place and about fainted when he said these are still available. http://onespeedf...

Re: Rabbit Stalled a few times - now won't start

You can buy them anywhere.

Also, check your in tank screen. I pulled mine out 5 minutes ago after experiencing a crappy idle - and its 100% covered in algae from biodiesel. I have no idea how to get the algae off but it sounds a lot like your problem.

On my car, the defroster switch was disconnected for some reason, so I tapped it for key on only power (and a lot of it).

Re: How long does your GP relay post-glow or after-glow?

I`m going to test mine out tomorrow when its like 40 degrees out. I have also been wondering about this as my previous car was on a toggle switch and this one starts easier and idles smoother probably because of the "post glow".

Then I guess I need to do that too... Rebuilding my injectors removed half of the vibrations - but thats another story.

Re: Adventures in Injector Testing

Yep, it turned the outsides black - but doesn`t matter. The needle was not affected by the vinegar and the 5 remaining frozen nozzles did not free up even boiling in vinegar for 30 minutes. No matter because of what follows... Today I tested all of the nozzles in the order that I thought they might ...

Re: Adventures in Injector Testing

Vinegar was going to be my next try for freeing them up - I just didnt want to risk creating that black layer all over them, does that happen on this grade of steel?

I used vinegar to clean all my shims - they turned out flawless and smooth, almost like bead blasting would do.

Dash cover done, i`m going to be taking care of the rust ASAP. Thanks for info on the foam - I`ll check for it. The rear plywood deck was pretty good and stout for fitting anything you could need to haul. I pulled it out and put a mint backseat & rear mat back in there - mostly for noise. There ...

Re: Adventures in Injector Testing

7 More nozzles have freed up - I soaked them overnight in penetrating oil - with no luck, then put them in the ultrasonic for about 5 minutes & was able to get them apart. Going to go ahead and soak the remaining 7 indefinitely - nothing to lose here. I will be testing out some Cerium Oxide on a...

Re: Adventures in Injector Testing

Here are some pics of the nozzles being ultrasonic cleaned, etc. Also I want to stress that i`m not mixing up the needles & nozzles - they are very carefully being kept together! I know someone would come along and lose it about this... after all it is just an experiment. http://onespeedfast.com...
