WTB MKII Golf/ Jetta, Diesel preferred

I'm looking to buy another Golf or maybe a jetta. Not worried about the interior or exterior, but I'm looking for something that's not leaking oil, coolant, or major mechanical/electrical hiccups. Shoot me a pic and a price and we can discuss things.

Re: 1986 1.6 golf diesel help

Thanks so much guys for all the input. First, i thought that if I kept the car cranking for 15-30 seconds straight, that it would drain the battery or burn out the starter motor. bu do it for at least 15 seconds and check? i'll do that http://www.thedieselstore.com/template/productOutput.php?partNum...

Re: 1986 1.6 golf diesel help

cam shaft is def at tdc, i got the locking plate in it, but idk about the crank shaft. i used the bentley as reference as to where it should be to be at tdc. flywheel tdc = crankshaft tdc or no? if the crank was NOT at tdc, wouldnt i hear some horrendous noise from piston valve contact?

Re: 1986 1.6 golf diesel help

sorry, I've been scouring the web for weeks trying to fix this and I'm tired of telling the story. Was driving, hit a bump and the car shut off. It started right back up tho. An hour later, just getting on the freeway, the car feels likes its slipping out of gear, 30 seconds later it dies. Cracked t...
