Re: Need help? I'm here.

I noticed! I stumbled upon this site looking for an exploded diagram of a VE pump. I'm so used to hearing "send it to get rebuilt" on the club that I went looking for a source of actual information rather than advice. I am not an expert by any means, especially on non-VE pump engines, but ...

It sounds like you've got some terrible luck, sir! Was the shop located in your home garage? Don't be ashamed...

So, have all the issues been worked out?

Re: CCM Problem

This is terrible! I parted out a 2002 Golf 4-door GLS, so I may have a harness and CCM for you, but you need to determine the extent of your damage before you start throwing parts at it. What have you done so far?

Re: No reverse, 2001 Jetta TDI

The good news is, the automatic cars have 11mm injection pumps, so once you complete the 5-speed swap (and you should), you will have a great platform to modify. Stick some injectors from a car equipped with a manual transmission and you'll make more power. If you need help swapping to manual, let m...

Re: 2001 Jetta TDI spurts and sputters

I'd like to hear some better descriptions of the problems you are experiencing. Is it a constant misfire? I.e. does it feel like one of the cylinders is dead? Are there any fuel leaks? Is your battery good, or do you have problems starting sometimes? First off, if you have not drained your fuel filt...

Re: 1998 vw jetta diesel emssion test in missouri

Immediately suspect any vacuum lines that are used to operate the system. A leaking vacuum line will result in an inoperative EGR valve that the computer thinks is working, thus throwing an insufficient flow code. No variable valve timing on these engines, but I'd be interested to see what the VVT s...

Re: 2001 Jetta TDI..High pressure fuel lines

Are you sure the lines are failed, or is it possible they've just been installed dirty or incorrectly? I've had numerous headaches with this after installing my TDI motor, installing the injectors, cracking the lines to bleed them, installing a new pump, and re-sealing that pump (in that order). It'...

Re: Bent valve not caused by bad timing?

Definitely nonsense. Warped head from water pump, maybe. Bent valves from timing almost exclusively, single bent valve from some combination of incorrect timing, valve float, or bad guide (prior rebuild)? Depending on the model, a single valve failure can warrant a total engine rebuild - the head br...

Need help? I'm here.

Hello all, I am new on here and would like to introduce myself. I spend a lot of time maintaining, repairing, diagnosing, and modifying my many TDIs and would like to help other people out with their TDI problems. I've got a shop's worth of tools, spare parts, and literature from my 4 years of tinke...
