Re: Broken exhaust stud
Thanks FatM Greetings from MO. I found the pages in Bentley, in the Exhaust System and Emission Control section page 24-27. Just what you said. 12mm 12point Maybe the next iteration will be turboless. Will get the car up in the air and start wriggling around under it. Bolts exposed to exhaust heat a...

Broken exhaust stud
Been looking for help on getting my mk2 jetta TD back going. Kind of ran out of responses on the vwdiesel site. http://vwdiesel.net/forum/index.php/topic,46880.0.html Have been taking all the bolts that I can get too. Initially thought that I would get the intake out first then lift the exhaust out....

Re: WTB front turn signal 86 jetta
For the sake of completeness, I had seen that part, an excellent price but alas they had a "c" in the part number and must have been for a later model mk2. I did find a new set on ebay that were in england. For about 30 each including shipping they were advertised and were stamped a NA par...

Re: Oil film in coolant reservoir
Do you think that the 15psi cap. is going add significant pressure when compared to the combustion chamber pressure? Even cranking pressure is what, 350psi Running pressure has to be significantly higher than that. Seems to me that an unpressurized cooling system would actually add another 15psi to ...

I have to ask, is my car a small bumper?

Re: 86 Jetta front turn signals.
Small bumper? They are rubber coated but don't have the lower extension like I have seem on some.
I think I have found a decent workaround I glued in some printed adapters. Thanks for the advice- Mon Dec 27, 2021 7:04 pm

86 Jetta front turn signals.
86 Jetta front turnsignals. I have been looking for a pair of new(er) front turn signals and finally located some supposedly us spec units. Unfortunately they are not. The socket doesn't fit the bulb holders on my 86 US Jetta diesel. http://veloliner.com/vw/vwturnsignals.JPG These units are great ex...

Re: free parts
After testing the gear shift pistol grip above, I decided that I wanted it taller and further back.

BOSCH VE LDA tuning
I have looked through some of the folders here and have not seen the LDA discussed in depth. With the VE pumps moving into the past on new engines, I thought it might make a worthy thread or at least one for discussion. Found a Peugeot 306 forum had an interesting article. Peugeot 306 thread Like ma...

Re: free parts
Hi I have it in my M2 Jetta Diesel with standard transmission. The leather boot is just under 9" across it at the base if stretched. The hump in the floor is pretty flat so was able to make it flat. Made it wider at the front to allow for the shift pattern with reverse and 5th at the front of t...

Re: RIP "Old Blue"
Fat Instead of a delrin bushing find someone with a 3d printer and make one. It wouldn't be as long lasting maybe but then again it might work fine for quite a while. Never had the steering wheel off so can't visualize the part. I have used mine for lots of bushings and parts on all sorts of things ...
