Well Thats just it Hagar. I never got into what I like about my rabbit but nimble is so true. I can make a "U" turn on near any street without backing up. the suspension is plenty fine for what I need and probably good for a canyon too. I can load the back up with the seat down and even br...

Yes..Pull it. If you can. Or if your set on starting it where it stands then loosen the injector nuts(17MM) at the nozzles. The thing with loosen is you have to alternate from tightening to loosening(without pulling).Every pound of pressure you rob the injectors by loosening those injectors need to ...

The back I havent looked at but they are bilsteins as well. Its not that I`m unhappy with the dampening but I shure would like to know w...

I just cannot sell my rabbit.

It`s a real funny thing..I have sold other rabbits, cars without a thought. This one I just cannot bring myself to sell. The other day some guy says to me "is that your rabbit ?" We talked and it turns out he is a VW enthusiast and asked if it was for sale. We talked on and really if there...

I had a buddy of mine put 3 tack welds on my crank for that very reason. He was a pro and positioned the welds where the bolt would flatten out just like it should, so that if the welds broke the worse that could happen was to re-weld. Before the weld I tried everything including grinding a key down...

I`m guessing its the tray under the hood right?
Never fixed one but I used the self adhesive flashing(made for home roof vents) to fix my rusted rain gutters on my home.
Its just a peel and stick material, but it sticks like crazy to a clean surface.

I thought about the re-torque too. Also wondered if he changed the headbolts when he did the gasket.

You might want to try purging the pump and injectors with a diesel purge.
I would be inclined to replace the injector nozzles myself, then purge and check the timing.
compression means allot also but I always felt if it came down to a rebuild at least I have new nozzles and a clean pump.

The timing belt can be inspected by removing the cover. Its rubber so look for dry cracking , loosness, It doesnt nessisarily need replaced right away but it is something that doesnt get checked very frequently. I leave my cover off so I can check it frequently. The seal at the back(rear) can be cha...

OK..Thanks guys. Thats what I was doing was eliminating the math by re-setting to zero instead of the 1MM and givving it a total of 1MM from plunger rest to TDC.
Its slow on a grade but its zippy on the flats.
Is 1MM about the limit for advancement?

Pump timing..Have I been wrong?

Recent posts on pump timing have me thinking I`m not setting it proper. Without going into the procedures, From the time the plunger stops moving then going back to TDC am I looking at 1MM or 2MM of total dial guage movement? In the timing procedure here on this site it says to "reset" the...

You might want to pull up the carpet and check the rear brake lines for rust. If its been leaking long enough they will rust. True story..I took my rabbit for new tires. brakes worked perfect, no fluid loss ever. When the guy took it off the lift he hit the brakes and they went to the floor. I`m gla...

I think the exhaust manifold can get by without the bracket just fine.
I think the bracket is there because of the big and relative heavy intake.
With your setup i dont see a problem because your not using the heavier intake manifold.
But i`m no expert, just a hunch.
