Not much difference between the two, I believe. You'll have to look at engine and suspension to make a decision. "Clean" doesn't necessarily mean "maintained", but those who are meticulous about their cars generally don't neglect maintenance.

Drive 'em and listen.

Looking for some Vanagon bits in central OH

I just bought an 81 Vanagon camper that was damaged by a tree limb. I'm looking for a pop-top and rear glass. Also a jumpseat and maybe the odd trim piece. If you know of any sitting in a bone yard or have a parts van let me know. I'll drive a bit for a good deal. :)

Just saw your location. Where's the car? I'll swing by and look, I may know some people interested.

You can put it up at ohiovw.com, too.

I own one. I think they stopped bringing them to the US in '87. Someone else knows for sure. :)

Mine's an '83 5000 5 cylinder and it's for sale in the Buy/Sell/Trade section, but it has a bad tranny.

Surely not new to everyone, but here's some open-source biodiesel reactor plans:

So... who brews their own, and how?

I've been seriously contemplating this; I even have an old water heater to use. :) Who's doing it and how? Just want some simple camper info.....

So, the Vanagon campers have propane powered stove and fridge, right? They will both also work from battery and from external hookup? I haven't seen any indication that the Vanagons have a generator. Also, is there A/C separate from the engine A/C that can run off propane or external hookup? These q...
