These were used on most Vw's 82-86 I believe. I need one to fit an 86' Jetta TD manifold.

I have a set of brand new .020 over pistons and a 12mm block with a fresh overbore and a new 2 notch head gasket. I am looking for a Hydraulic 1.6 turbo diesel head that is in good shape.

I have a completey rebuilt 1.5 sitting on a stand for trade. TD must be complete and in good mechanical condition. If interested email me :

1.5 and 1.6 are identical as far as I can tell. The TD is slighlty different in that there is a jog in one of the lines to clear the top of the TD injector pump. I mix and match em all the time, just don't crank down on them or you'll be lookin for another set.

I agree. I had a bad #2 injector make a sound like someone was whacking the block with a ball peen hammer. It only did it at idle. If you advance or retard the timing and the noise changes you have found the problem.

If it was runaway, then woudn't the car have continued to run with the key turned off, since it was pulling in the oil?

(1) is a shortblock, 85, 1.6. Minor ridging but in overall good shape. (2) is an 89' includes cyl head. I pulled it because it was burning a little coolant, found the gasket blown between cyl 1 and 2. No accesories on either. $150 for both, you pick up. If interested drop me a line.

It is grey. Good tires, interior is good ( Been sitting for awhile) Body is straight. I think it has about 180k. I'll get some pics as soon as i can but it might be a little while.
