If I was going to go to effort of parting out, I would just buy another pump and put it on. Then raising price of car back up to where it ought to be selling. Don't know if its worth going Ebay or not.

FS:$400 81 diesel Rabbit set up for vegoil.

Am selling Rabbit, needs injection pump to run at its best, otherwise it will go most anywhere at top speed of 55mph, maybe 60 down hill. Have stripped out ac and heater so it might not be a good car for up north. Is 4 speed tranny, 4 dr. Included with car but not installed extra oil, air, fuel filt...

Nice article but of course they give only a minor mention of running straight vegoil. I guess the media can never mention the simplest ideas. Always something that involves massive chemical processes that only big industry can do on cost effective level.

I would imagine if biodiesel was run it consistently before that all the lines have been changed. Not that its a big deal to do. You lucky dog you having a pump where you can buy biodiesel.

When I was stationed in Guam they colored the gasoline so it wouldn't be used off base. Didn't work too well, you would fill up in town and their gas was red also. HMMM wonder how that happened.

I like vegoil myself, because I can get so much of it, its simpler to convert vehicle. I wouldn't trust myself mixing chemicals endup poisoning myself and surrounding area. If there wassomeplace close to me I might buy the occasional tank of biodiesel just to clean the fuel system.

All you have to do to run it is put it straight into your tank like regular diesel. That being said, depending on your vehicle you will need to change fuel lines to something that tolerates biodiesel. Also depeneding on age of carrying a few extra fuel filters would be nice also as the biodiesel cle...

Go to Mcmaster.com besides selling things they also explain what they are selling, differences and what type of product is best for what purpose. I think gear pumps are best for heavy oil or grease but they tend to be more expensive, I like diaphragm pumps myself, but I try not having to deal with g...

If I added up the money I've spent on cheap used pumps on Ebay I pobably could've bought a good one. I may just pony up a couple of hundred and get a good pump and be done with the trying to save money route. I have a line on a used 2" pump a guy used as back up bilge pump on his sail boat. So ...

I got used real quick to driving by gas stations looking at prices going up and and up, thinking thats nice as I spread the smell of free cooking oil down the road. You mention a wife that implies there might be kids also, keep the Tundra for long road trips, a Rabbit is no place to be crammed in cl...

Deturboing an engine

Because I like to be different, instead of asking the eternal question about adding a turbo to a NA engine, how difficult is it to take a turbo off an engine and make it NA? My thinking is a bit more displacement from 1.6 engine to 1.8 engined vehicle, without the added complexity of turbo.
