Not sure what you mean by "make sure you push or pull on the injector towards the head, not away from the head." do you mean to keep pressure down on the socket or press up toward the hood. i have never replaced injectors so want to make sure i understand this prior to doing and not crack ...

http://www.mainecleanup.org/rabbitpart.jpg I think this may go on the backside of injector pump for 84 diesel rabbit. can anyone confirm? 1.7 SDI engine and trans from VW Polo
Someone on Ebay is selling a complete engine/trans from a VW Polo..1.7 diesel. Item 290389185816
Anyone know anything about these engines?
Would it be possible to put this into a 84 rabbit?
Downside would be diffilculty in getting parts when needed.

Missing Injector Pump mount
The injector pump on my 84 rabbit is missing the mount on one of the bolts. Mechanic said the pump will eventually move and lose timing. Think it is located on back side underneath near the engine block.
Does anyone have one they could sell me?

still not running
nope! I installed a rebuilt IP last fall and still cannot get it to fire up. Its been a busy summer so just sits in the garage waiting to be fixed. Anyone in Bangor Maine area that can help me? I will pay $! I may take it to a high-end diesel performance shop but afraid it will cost $$$ plus towing.

Thank you. Person that sold pump to me has an extra key and is sending it. With an adjustment to timing, rabbit should be back on the road this weekend.

I see thank you!
If there was one there, its gone. I pulled the sproket off in dark conditions not realizing there was a small part there. Looked all over 4 times over, but cannot find it. Will see if I can get a replacement.

IP keyway
I am not sure what you mean by "keyway" or "key installed"? The IP shaft has one groove in it about with width of a mm or 2. And the IP has a short groove that look like they should align through a tab, but it does not exist. Does anyone have a photo that shows what i am missing,...
