I'm looking at head studs and I'm not sure which ones I need. There are two part numbers listed for 11mm studs. 204-4701 which are the undercut studs. 204-4203 which I suppose are not undercut. Are they stronger? Are they the new listing specifically for diesels? They are a little bit more money, b...

Yeah, I saw that post and will probably contact him. Just wanted to make sure what p/n was the better one for our diesels before I commit to something.

I run wvo and I ordered an EGT gauge yesterday. Didn't think about this use for it when I ordered it, but it will be something to watch. Thanks!

I have had a request for a drive by video, so I had my 15 year old daughter shoot one. http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee412/79300sd/th_Video0005.jpg I would have thought that the turbo whine would have been more noticeable. I did order up some gauges today. - EGT - Boost - Oil Temperature - Vol...

I'm not sure about the firewall room, but I have an 82 rabbit out behind the shop that still has the motor in it so I can check if nobody else knows. I felt like the 80 rabbit had more room when I was pulling the motor, but it doesn't have the clutter of a/c hoses and the veggie kit.

I finished the exhaust today and properly supported it. Added a cast aluminum tip from a supercharged Pontiac Grand Prix GTP that I had laying around.....Thinking I'll replace it with something bigger as it made the sound not as deep and the ID is about 2" so the turbo spools slower. It is so m...

I got off work on time today, so I had a while to work at my shop tonight. Started grinding the welds on the intake pipe and opening up the hole with a die grinder. http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee412/79300sd/Photo0833.jpg Then made a plate to close the bottom end of the pipe and welded it in ...

That style of intake that I'm using normally has the swappable plate to move the elbow, but this particular one does not. I had thought about cutting out the opening on top and tapping a couple of holes, but decided instead to just finish it the quick and dirty way with the elbow welded on a new ste...

Yeah....It startled me during the video when the turbo started working. It had not made any noise or moved any air till then....lol I couldn't find a good pic of the one that I'm using, but found this one. Don't remember where I saved it from. It is not exactly like mine. My manifold only has the op...

I stopped and picked up the pennzoil synchromesh fluid tonight. I'll change the fluid before I start driving the golf. I spent some time at my shop tonight and got the drivers side cv axle in, adjusted the v belts, trimmed the timing cover some more and installed it, double checked my temporary exha...

I do have a grind when shifting down to first unless I'm almost completely stopped. Hoping that the fluid will help that.

I did read some that suggested that the pennzoil/gm fluid seemed to break down after a period of time, but that even then it still shifted much better than before.
