Ya, the car came without the interior line the headliner and sun visors so I just screwed it into the existing holes. I didn't want to loose my cup holders. Gotta have my coffee on the morning ride in.

VDO Temp Gauge

I got tired of my temp gauge moving around all over the place and not having real numbers on it so I swapped to a VDO gauge and sender for the 100 to 250 deg f range. I made a control panel for my veg conversion project and put the gauge in that. http://www.epsilon-gamma.org/rabbit/controls.jpg I al...

Getting started on the conversion

Figured I would post some pics of the beginnings of my conv. I'm using the aircraft spruce 3/8 od aluminum fuel line. The HIH setup is Home depot 1/2" nptf tees. 3/8 compression drilled out. 1/2" barb for coolant feed and return. 5/8 hose for the outer hose of the coil. Here's the coil: ht...

Offalot, do you "dry" your veg or test its water content before blending. I'm just getting started and was looking at the pan test etc. I was a little nervous before about water in the veg but now I really think I need to make sure it's addressed on my conversion/processing setup. Thanks, ...

I'm real bright. I didn't have my location filled out  Sorry I'm pretty far. I found my sae indicator had about a 3/8 inch shank. One of the folks on here showed how to make and adapter for that in the tools post. I followed it and used a 1/4" brass 4" pipe nipple. I drilled it to 3/...

Where do you live? I think the hardest part for me was making the adapter for my dial indicator. You could borrow one depending on where you are.

That or I could put a block valve in the line. The problem I ran into was every leak welded over would increase the pressure and then I would find a leak somewhere else. I welded onto the top of the tube and it was tapered on the inside to help in assembly I guess. However with the tube being so thi...

I would like to see them if you get a chance to post them. I used a liquid/paste teflon from permatex for my fittings. It seemed to work pretty well. Glad to hear the new one is working too.

I made mine from a 9$ HF jack. I think it was like a 4 ton orange one. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=93370 http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/photos/93300-93399/93370.gif Anyway, all I did was unscrew the top nut. Remove the ram. Remove the outer shell. Remove the in...

I was reading on that a little an it is interesting. I was a little nervous about adjusting the cam but I just followed it word for word and said to myself it was designed to be adjusted so lets do it. I also checked it a dozen times until I convinced myself that it was out of alignment. I have to f...

Ya, I'm very happy! Today I didn't have to downshift going up hills on my way to work. I'm thinking I'll do rings in the spring and just keep an eye on it till then. Thanks again. Rob.

Whole new car!!!

After spending weeks digging through posts, I amassed everything I needed (tools and knowledge) to really check out my motor this weekend. Previously, starting in the morning (60's) required the cold start knob and the car would smoke and shake like heck. Once the car warmed up it ran pretty good bu...

Here's a great reference for the rebuild procedure. http://vincewaldon.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=20&Itemid=28 The little cylinders are nozzles. They wear and need to be replaced. The little disks are probably heat shields. They should be black and both sides DO NOT lo...

I just kept relapping with the 600grit and reassembling until it sealed. I think they're finally good now but my starter is spinning now without catching. once I check the bushing and the armature shaft diameter and get it starting well I'll do some road testing to see how they hold up. There is a m...
