Im not sure when they run out of efficient steam but If you get one from an AAZ the top end is better because it has a higher flowing hot side.

K14s are great I have 2. One from an aaz on my tdi and 1 on mk2.

Hmm ok. I thought so but someone said it may be 10mm but wanted to make sure. If i wanted to get a 10mm head where could i find one?

Yes they would i would recommend thought that you replace it with a lift pump. I use this one it works great i opted for the 5-7 psi version.

the only thing about these vehicles that really pisses me off is the charging system.

on my eco engine I didn't find the gasket to sticl to the block or carrier. no neec to drop oil pan either. Just what I found though could be different for everyone.

How much for the valve spring compressor?

I just pull off the whole carrier and replace the carrier seal and r&r the crankseal with the carrier off and put it back on as a unit makes may easier to do.

I have the trans from the 1992 gas Jetta. Can't remember the code off the top of my head- think it is 3 digit starting with A. I thought that I shouldn't use it because the gearing is different. out west I hear they are common. in audi 4k series of the late 80's. Or if you could find a 5 cylinder tdi that would be a nice swap with an mtdi pump.
