Re: eco to td... td lda pump on its way.

That's not a sensor, it's a crank vent heater. The pressure drop from positive pressure in the crank vent tube to negative pressure in the intake hose from filter to turbo can cause freezing of water vapor (like the low pressure side of the A/C system) and those ice crystals can erode your compresso...

Re: Intro & marble mystery

If cold starts were hard and it lacked a little power, then it sounds like you had the injection pump 180° out (could be internal to the pump). With it 180° out, it will start and run, but be smokey and clattery all the time.

Re: H2O pump housing bolts

What aluminum bolts are you talking about?? I've never seen an aluminum bolt on a VW anywhere, definitely not on any stock water pumps. Just to ensure my sanity I just took a magnet to seven used water pumps I have here ranging in year from '79 to '97. All had steel bolts... Regardless, the steel bo...

I tried to look it up to my specific application and didn't see it listed there. I've got their phone numb...

It would help performance and efficiency, but it wouldn't help emissions.

Re: eco to td... unstopable vibration

A properly adjusted LDA will give BETTER efficiency than running "ECO" mode. The ECOdiesel was created for emissions and NOT economy - actually at the expense of both efficiency and power. At stock boost pressures, the K14 gives the same max power of the larger K24 and T3 turbos (actually ...

Re: What gauges are you running?

Thanks man. Yeah, it's custom. I did a 3D cad model first, flattened the design, printed on card stock, traced and cut from steel, bent the parts where they needed bends, welded it all together, ground the welds. It took a silly amount of time. I've been thinking I'd make eyebrows out of either steel...

Re: '79 Rabbit Tires - How Big?

Pop bottles and sand paper work good for snow tires in some places...... lol, now that is funny! I should have given more info. I have 13" stock steel wheels and will keep those rims for now. The engine will have plenty of power to push taller wheels and I would like to lower rpms. I nee...

'79 Rabbit Tires - How Big?

I have a '79 rabbit and need to get a new set of tires and was wondering how large I can go before running into issues with the suspension/steering?

Re: Injection Pump Seal Kit: DGK-126

I'm not sure if all the seals in the Bosch kit are viton or even why you are wanting them to be, but the Bosch kit is top quality and every seal in it is rated for use with all of the diesel fuel formulations including biodiesel and they all have been since the mid-90s.

It's a 4-door. It's black and chrome. I'll post a pic when I have a chance. I saw that there are dash pads available for $40ish and dash covers for $100.
