I bought a little 12 Volt INLINE Fuel pump, at a car parts store.With a short jumper of fuel hose it can be inserted in the line either before the filter or on the fitler OUT nippple, to purge air,Not for permenent installation. The exterior of the old filter looked kind of new, it was the fuel I drained out of it into a clean glass jar that looked clean/good. You can look into a TDi filter through the hole where the Tee fitting in the return line hooks to the top of the filter.
Now I suspect Shut off valve/solenoid failure!

Is the injection pump the only fuel pump in a TDi ? A Haynes manual says so. I thought there was a lift pump in the tank to push Diesel through the filter. Book says TDi injection pump sucks Diesel from the tank through the filter just like my old Rabbit !

OWNERs Manual mentions draining Water SEPARATOR at service times. Haynes manual does not mention it. Where is it what does it look like?
