MK2 in a MK1 Caddy Swap

Will a 1985 MK2 motor/trans fit in a 1982 MK1 Caddy without needing mods or extra parts? Im just wondering if it will swap right in.

This motor is supposedly imported from Germany and planning on swapping it into my Caddy...the poor l...

TD Motor ID

I just acquired a TD long block but cant find any info on it.

The block is stamped with JR 433 924. I have searched quite a bit online but cant find the JR code anywhere.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you

Re: Old guy Old Rabbit.

hagar, have you checked your smileage based on a full tank of fuel yet since this is how most folks do it? It would be interesting to see if you get the same smilage :)
