I think Im gonna wire a push-button switch from the battery to the glow plug bus since this is the second time in two years I've been stuck in the cold weather without power to the plugs. Glow plug relay

My glow plug relay crapped out in my 85 Golf na and wondering if I can use the relay from my 82 Caddy na til I get another one? The reason I ask is that I recall reading somewhere that MKII keeps glow plugs lit a while after engine is started and MKI doesnt. Dont want to fry anything.

hagar, have you tested your waxed fuel mixture to see if it turns seals and fuel lines to goo?

Want more MPG hagar? You should try putting golf ball dimples all over Bunny Bondo :mrgreen:. This was done on Mythbusters and claimed to improve MPG

After searching around it appears beam-type torque wrenches are more accurate than clicker-types since you can calibrate them easily. I thought it was the other away around. Perhaps having both would allow one to check the clicker for accuracy with the beam to some extent since the clicker is nice f...

Thanks for the great tips folks! Got my pop tester pretty much done so now time for a new torque wrench since mine came apart into a bunch of little pieces :evil:. Those Husky torque wrenches from Home Depot any good? Price and lifetime warranty looks good to me.

NEVER lock the cam with the cam lock to do this as it will break out a piece of steel on the end of the cam.....EVERY TIME! Guess I have been super lucky so far. I have done three with homemade cam timing tool to lock cam without breaking. I didnt even use a torque wrench since mine is busted :shoc...
