Simply adding an intercooler is certainly a positive modification and doesn't require any other modifications, but to take full advantage of it, I'd recommend adding an EGT gauge. I've got a 1.9 TD and would also like to get the rev's down at highway speeds - is there any kind of 6-speed transmissions that would readily swap into a diesel?

I read somewhere that the 1.9 TD has some inherent unique problems, I've had a couple of these throughout the years and I can't really think of anything that really stands out. Anybody know what some of them might be??

I've got a 94 TD, I read and read about the 1.8 turbo guy's with their intercoolers and I'm wondering what a cooler would or could do if anything for my diesel??

Thanks, that's what I thought - I thought about busting out the ceramic's as my 94 did come with a converter, what affect would doing so be on the performance?? E-testing on a diesel is a joke, apparently they run the engine until warm and look for smoke. The pipe leading out of my original converte...

Does any body know if the catalytic converter off of a gas engine will work on a diesel engine?? I just got hold of a nearly new exhaust system which included the converter and was wondering if it would work on my diesel.
