air

this makes sence. I hope it is the problem. Would it be advisable to attempt to blow the lines backwards with compressed air? My air bubbles are sometimes the length of green beans......about 1 inch or 1 1/2. I don't think that would do you any good at all. It would just blow the in-tank screen off...

leaky vacuum gauge

I had a leaky vacuum gauge causing me problems.
I put a different one on and everything worked fine.
Meanwhile, I opened up the leaking one and found a bad solder seal on the inside.
I fixed it with a soldering iron and solder.

air in fuel

Yeah, if the vaccum is high when you shut the engine off, it will suck fuel back to the tank. I saw this on an extreme case of clogged fuel lines I was just working on. I would suck fuel through the filter and the vacuum would quickly pull the fuel right back towards the tank. High vacuum will cause...

air in the fuel

A clogged fuel line can cause bubbles in the fuel line. Put a vacuum gauge on the fuel line and see how hard the pump is pulling. A vacuum gauge will tell you so much. I try to make sure all my VW diesel driving friends have one hooked up and mounted on the dash. I can't remember what you are workin...

HWH

That looks like they are using a 1/2" compression fitting sweated to a 1.2" copper "T". That is a hard piece to find. I've only seen 1 like it. The 3/8" compression that sweats onto 1/2" is easy to find. Maybe they used a 1/2" compression fitting that threads onto ...

timer

I've thought a little about this. There is an Su wire coming from the ignition so when you put your key in the ignition it make beepers go off and stuff. If you could turn the car off and use the power from the Su to tell you if the vegy system is till turned on ... at least you'd have a beeper or s...

wrist pins

I suppose if the wrist pins weigh the same and don't flop around in the rod bushings or the pistons, you would probably be OK.
The dealership doesn't always have the best price ... I'm sure Jack could get you the parts for much cheaper.

plastigauge

The plastigauge will stick to the bearings after it is squished. Don't scrap it off. Use carb cleaner or brake cleaner because it is petro soluable. I sometimes have a hard time getting it to stay in place so I stick it there with a little silicone dielectric compound ... non-petro grease. Yeah, no ...

Glad to hear you have it running well.
I don't know what would give you noisy valves.
Maybe a timing issue ... due to diesel and vegy having different cetane.

there you go

I don't mind helping people get their system running right. Especially when they have the whole thing put together and are so close. At least that way I know they aren't just wasting my time dreaming about a sytem they will never build. I was the first one to suggest a filter backflush setup and the...

flush time

Yeah, it took awhile to type too  . By timing delay I figure you mean how long till I switch to vegy after startup and how long of a flush. In the summer I switch to vegy before I turn the key. the injection pump is full of diesel and the filter is backflushed and filled with the thinner flushi...

loopy

You might not need to move your tank. It is very important to heat the loop. You looked at my site so you know I have a fuel select solenoid on the input and one on the output of the injection pump. I also designed a backflush setup. My first backflush setup had the return line hooked to the vegy li...

return line

Yeah the smell of vegy at startup means it wasn't completely flushed out. That's trial and error.
Where is your return line going to?
