Re: Pump not pumping?
I made one using a dremel with a carbide burr bit. It was a 12mm 6pt socket, carved out 3 of the flats to make the triangle.

Re: Pump not pumping?
There are adapters http://www.harborfreight.com/hex-drill-socket-driver-set-3-pc-68513.html I use a 1/2" variable speed drill because slow is better. It takes some power to get started but then it tends to spin faster than needed. To make it even more simple to do I welded some rebar to an appr...

Re: Pump not pumping?
Thats why, for verification, I test on the bench before installing. I make a fuel supply and spin it with a variable drill.
Clip on a 12V DC power supply to the fuel shutoff and It will spit fuel out of the delivery valves.

Re: Smoky old IP
If you have the time, tools, and patience... clean and reseal it. Gunk and dirt that gets in or forms inside the IP can never really get out unless the pump is dissassembled. Outlet has screen so the tiny hole doesn't clog. Neat video of the parts inside https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwVTm2-W-JE

Re: inj pump inlet Q
maybe this http:(cometitor's link removed by moderator) , but it says for MK1. I got one once just to for the fittings (my pump dual out banjo cracked so I used one off it and ran a T for the injectors return). I'm pretty sure your pump banjo fitting is the same size as MK1, but the MK1 fuel line is...

Re: And now for something completely different...
As I was reassembling a 107a pump, I used this to check that the vanes were pumping in the correct direction (and not in reverse). The outer ring for the vanes on this pump looked the same either way, which had me worried. I knew the vanes were good, but I did not want to wait to bench test the pump...

I think the modification is blocking off the extra outlet. I would be tempted to pinch it shut with pliers and solder or braze the seam.

Re: And now for something completely different...
Wow, a neat test at the right time during a pump rebuild/reseal. Thats good to know when your in there, even better after its all put together! The vanes are such a precise fit, I dread taking them out and putting them back in. I hear they're supposed to stay in their exact positions. I know there i...

Re: Newbie here, IP problem
I think it's awesome you did a cheap semi-refresh on a engine with just rings. It's not like you were telling people to do it, its just something YOU decided to try. Something to be learned there. If someone recommends against it, thats good information, too. Too bad that they couldn't just leave it...

banned? WTF is Omnimod? I know they like to call this the "hillbilly forum" because, well I'm not sure exactly why, but they seem afraid to talk about things like timing by ear or any IP bushing diy- perhaps for good reason.... nevertheless, big loss for them. They do have a new owner now ...

Re: Newbie here, IP problem
Awesome! keep your head on , I always dread installing the head because the plunger is such a tight fit, afraid I might be scuffing it a little as I'm trying to line everything up.

Re: Newbie here, IP problem
Good luck with it. I bought the ebay video and it still took me several tries to get it right. One way to test it before you put it back on the engine and time it is to: first, put the pump in a vice and slowly test the pump movement by hand using the sprocket to make sure everything moves/rotates s...
