I remember reading a previous post regarding this same issue. Please don't take offence when I ask you a potentially embarressing question... Is it possible you've cross connected the fuel return to the vacuum system? Someone else did that on here, and had the exact results you've described. Apparen...

So tell me what you think....
I rebuilt my engine from the ground up at 191061. After 1000 miles I switched to synthetic oil. I've sufferred from a weepy valve cover gasket ever since. I replaced the gasket with a one piece rubber unit, as well as the studs to match. I've changed covers. I've hammered everything flat (sealing fl...

its molecular structure bears the same relationship to polyethylene as graphite does to diamond or natural rubber does to a cured tire You have a way of showing me the light! I definitely feel I have a better understanding of the material after reading this. I'm not seeing anything yet that would m...

Since a water heater should be able to easily achieve 140 deg f, I would expect that 130 to 140 f with bio should be an achievable standard. For my processor, I don't expect to need flexibility... structural rigidity is actually a plus. The question would then fall to whether sharkbite fittings can ...

Anyone ever tried PEX tubing with biodiesel?
I've never even handled PEX yet, so I'm a little disadvantaged. I don't yet know exactly how flexible the stuff is. What I do know is that it's Polyethylene, which is known to withstand biodiesel, and that it's supposed to be able to deal with hot water due to the molecular alignment and bonding. I ...

what does this say about the condition of my engine?
I rebuilt the engine about a year ago. I've never done a compression check on it. The temperatures around here have been dipping into the 20's. The cold start advance hasn't worked since I had the IP rebuilt. The engine was getting harder and harder to start cold. I found two dead glow plugs, cyl's ...

I, too have an '81. Contrary to what the books show, mine is a slow glow system. The last time I replaced my relay, they sold me a fast glow relay and I started having to cycle a couple of times before things would work correctly. I finally just disconnected the lead from the temperature sensor and ...

I've checked my bolts (and replaced them all to be sure). I even lock-tighted them in (the blue, not the red). Yes, it could be a bent valve cover. I've checked it and played with it and swapped it with another (used, of course). I've replaced the hold down strips (both front and back). I don't seem...

Mine's a single port, dead center top of the intake manifold, towards the front (air filter end). I noticed that there was cast aluminum directly behind where it entered the intake manifold, preventing it from being in the direct flow of air. Should I play around with extending the port lower so tha...

Can anyone else out there try this and tell me what happens?
I've sufferred from a weepy valve cover gasket since the day I finished my rebuild. I've upgraded to a solid rubber gasket, I've tinkered and toyed and no matter what, I always seem to get a small weep out the rear onto the exhaust manifold at freeway speeds. I've even tried black RTV on the gasket....
