Wow old post revival!

I simply tightened the filter too tight that time. Haven't had a problem since. I don't believe in the "hand tightened" approach. :)

A scrapyard would be your best bet. I'm not sure if you can get that piece alone. Or someone on here might have one laying around.

That is crazy! Go by his shop to make sure it actually burnt down and that he isn't screwing you.

But one way or another, because he had your vehicle and his shop burnt down, he is liable for what happens to your car.

Whether you do it yourself or take it to a shop, it is extremely important to get the injectors pop tested. Just a few bar difference between injector breaking pressures will result in poor running conditions. Building one really isn't that hard. If, as always, you have the right tools for the job. ...

You can get by using the same one. But as Vince said, they usually don't seal the second time around.

Thanks for the tip Adam! I didn't have time today so I just left it. My glow plug light actually doesn't work so it's not a big deal anyway. :P I didn't see the check valve while I was under there but to be honest I didn't really look. I have always had bubbles in my fuel lines as well and I think t...

Also, I showed Hagar the water separator on my car and of course the cap snaps off. Hagar helped me fix it well enough to get home and I ended up bypassing it today.

I've heard with the 020 transmission that if you shift into 3rd too hard then there is a chance that it can get stuck there. Something internally gets pushed past its limit and wont move after.

Thanks for the props Trip! It all comes from trial and error :)

PS: Don't forget to include the diesel wax you put into the tank in your MPG calculation!

I use Mann, Mahle or Bosch. Always. I've seen a Fram filter cut open in person and the filter is pretty much cardboard...

Hagar if you want me to bring you some filters next time I come down I would be more than happy to!

The fires in our area are contained now but for a while we were under evacuation alert. Dry as can be over here.

3 / .6 litres=5 x 30 = 150

So in 3 litres I would put in 150 grams of wax. This is just what I do though, by no means do you have to follow it.

I think I remember Hagar saying that 1 little section of wax (we use the same brand) is plenty per tank.

I use one of my jars at every fill up.

Not all a waste. Since I have no way of weighing something that small, I can now use volume. The way I do it: The wax comes in 4 blocks with 4 sections in each block. The total weight of the package is 450 grams. 450/4=112.5/4= 28.125 grams If you can divide the block up and do a bit of math you ca...
