How hard is the rebuild, I am no mechanic, but I am very mechanical...

I am changing out my injectors and don't have any metric wrench large enough (other than crescent which there isn't enough room) to remove the injector. I have to go buy one and wondering what size to get?

If it was running and now it is not, use it to your advantage.... if he wants 500, start at 100 sighting all the things that might be wrong with it, and quote the prices....ie glow plugs($50 approx), inj pump rebuild ($150 for someone to do) CV joints. ....etc I was told to do this, but I am a nice ...

I had to pull the pulley to get to the water pump today and I found that it was chipped...see photo.

Will this cause a problem or should it be replaced?

It is cloth, I got my hands on some sanicide (use it to clean ambulance) to kill as much mold I can, the carpet is done, so I will replace that. This will give my 9 year old something to do while I am cusing at the car

Since it seems I am tearing my 1.6 down lately, I was talking with some one that said the intake manifold should be bean blasted very 60k to clean out the diesel build up. Is this something that needs to be done? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but this is my first diesel and learning as I go I gu...

Is there a trick for getting at the water pump or am I in for a timing belt redo as well? It seems that there is a bolt behind the intermediate pully. Anyone know any tricks for this? It is a 85 golf diesel 1.6 NA.

Is there any easy way to get that mold smell out of seats that have been sitting for 5 years? Can it be cleaned or will it need to be replaced?
